The people behind Google has come up with yet another great idea to generate more customers. Imagine making free calls within the United States and Canada? Who would not love that idea? With most individuals trying to squeeze their budget, this offer is hard to pass by.

Placing a free call anywhere in the US and Canada through Google is fast and easy, but first you must have a Gmail account. If you don’t then you must set up one before you can use this free service. Once set up, all you need to do is log in to your Gmail account and from the left side of your mail page you can click on Call Phone. A page will pop up which will ask you to accept and install a program. Since you are new to the system, you must do this before you can go further.

Calls are free within the United States and Canada until 2010 and after that who knows. Google may start charging you but for now it is best to take advantage of the free service. International calls however are billed, but at a very low rate. Google provided a separate page where you can view their international calling rates. For example, Google’s voice call per minute to Argentina is just $0.02. This is a huge saving to folks who have families and relatives in Argentina.

You can place calls to landline and mobile phones from within your Gmail account. All you have to do is just dial a phone number you want to call and you will be connected. It’s that simple.

If you want to take advantage of this opportunity then you must follow certain requirements. You must install voice and video chat which requires Windows XP+/ Mac OS X 10.4 + /Linux. You can check out Google’s sample per minute rates or Google’s complete list of calling rates to give you an idea of how you can save more bucks by taking advantage this system.

Can’t figure out Google’s free call service? Bored offers free calls online too. Check it out!

Feeling bored and want to talk to somebody? Here’s one service that’s giving free calls online.

Bored.com is offering free internet phone calls but you must be dumb if you use the service without reading its warning signs. Bored provides the service for free and so to prevent its abuse, they limit you to only 3 calls per day.

Note that the service works in the USA only so forget about calling a friend located at the other end of the planet. To use the service, all you need to do is fill up the form provided in the site. You will be required to fill in the phone number to call (within the USA only), the phone number you want to show on the Caller ID, name you want to show on Caller ID and what to say on your call. And for security purposes, the site will log your IP address.

It’s a great service to consider because its free. Don’t forget when you’re bored just go to bored.com and make a free call. Remember you are limited up to 3 calls only.

Are you frustrated when you call a company and get stuck in a phone-tree limbo listening to the choices of menu options and trying to find the right department?

A company trying to solve this type of problem faced by customers is now on its Beta stage. You will not get lost in a phone-tree jungle anymore. Fonolo.com will automatically map out these menus and keeps them current. Fonolo works like a Google of the phone space.

Here is how it works. Users register all their phone numbers on the Fonolo site and go to the site for a fully laid out menu when they need to make a call. Once a user makes a selection by clicking a button for a particular department, Fonolo calls the phone number then calls the consumer’s phone number and bridges the calls, saving time and effort.

It’s free and the free service also allows users to log notes about the interaction and even offers the option of recording calls, which comes in handy in case of a dispute.

It’s a great service that’s free and no software to install. You can now stop listening to the phone menu with Fonolo.
